Recap - SoCal Wildfires Donation Campaign

It’s been some time since the Southern California wildfires, and we’re admittedly overdue in sharing this update…but better late than never!

Thanks to the incredible generosity and compassion of our YCN members, we were able to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those directly affected. Your support truly made a difference.

Total Donations: $8859

  • Over $2,500 in essential physical goods, including emergency food, personal hygiene products, and blankets

  • $3,500 in Target gift cards, providing flexibility for individuals to purchase what they needed most

  • $2,800 in direct monetary contributions to the YMCA, enabling the organization to pivot as needed with ever-changing demands for essential goods and crucial social services

We are incredibly proud of our YCN membership for stepping up and showing what a thoughtful, engaged community can do.

Special thanks to Grace Kang (SY ’21) for her tireless efforts during this time. A Las Vegas native who moved to Los Angeles after graduating from Yale, Grace inspired the YCN Board to support the LA community with the donation campaign. She appeared on local Vegas news to raise awareness, coordinated with shelters and organizations in LA, personally delivered supplies from Vegas to LA, and even volunteered on the ground—joining Yale Club of LA members at the Santa Anita racetrack.

Kudos to Grace. You rock!
