George Baily
George is a senior at Yale from London, UK, studying mathematics and philosophy. He is a member of the Conservative Party and is president of the Yale College Bridge Club. He has played for the men’s rugby team, races for the Nordic ski team, and competes for the Yale Triathlon Club. After Yale, he hopes to work in sales & trading in Hong Kong or move to New York City to work in tech.
Will Barbee
Will is a senior from Houston, TX pursuing a degree in history. Outside of his involvement with the YPU as a member of the Federalist Party, he has served as the student president of the Buckley Institute, a senator on the Yale College Council, and a co-chair of the Episcopal Church at Yale. He plans to pursue opinion journalism immediately after graduation, with hopes of one day moving back to Texas and attending law school.
Riya Bhargava
A member of the Independent Party, Riya was the president of the Union in the fall term of 2024 and is a senior at Yale College studying biomedical engineering and philosophy. She also studies the nature of intelligence and computational epistemology, and is interested in questions of religion and the various idealisms.
Abigail Carpenter
Abigail, who served as chair of the Progressive Party in the fall term of 2024, is from a very small town in rural North Carolina. She is passionate about the environment, Appalachian equity, and law. She is a senior majoring in environmental studies with a concentration in environmental justice and minoring in energy studies. She hopes to attend law school in the near future, and to eventually practice environmental law in her home state. When she’s not studying, you can find her reading in her garden.
Brennan Columbia-Walsh
Brennan is a senior from New Jersey majoring in political science and English, with concentrations in political theory, constitutional law, and creative writing. He served as the president of the Union in the Fall Term of 2025 and is a member of the Conservative Party. Brennan is the co-founder of the Allegheny Civic Fellowship, a great books academy for underserved students in Appalachia, and is a decorated playwright and actor with international credits. He hopes to attend law school after graduation and work in public service in New Jersey.
Richie George
A junior from New Jersey, Richie is studying history and philosophy, with interests in constitutional theory, international law, and political economy. They served as Speaker of the Union during the Fall Term of 2025 and are currently the Chair of the Party of the Left. Outside of the Union, Richie swims, writes experimental theater, and enjoys a sci-fi book with a London Fog.
Leo Greenberg
A Yale senior majoring in History and Philosophy, Leo served as Chairman of the Conservative Party in the Fall Term of 2024 and as President of the Union in the Spring Term of 2025. He hopes to work in diplomacy or public policy, having published writing on European politics and national security with Just Security and Persuasion. He is also passionate about education and urban policy, and he co-founded the Allegheny Civic Fellowship to teach great works of political thought in rural Appalachia.
Oleg Laskov
Oleg is a senior studying Applied Mathematics at Yale. His family is from Rostov on Don, Russia, and he grew up in New York City. In past summers, he has worked as a quantitative researcher, and in future summers he hopes to find a job trading commodities. Oleg is a member of the Conservative Party, and in his free time he likes to read Tom Wolfe and drive fast cars.
Kate Reynolds
Kate is a 2025 graduate of Yale College. Originally from NYC, she moved to Las Vegas last September to report for The Nevada Independent, the only statewide newspaper in Nevada. In college, she studied American and international politics with a particular focus on education policy. Driven by her concerns about lagging political apathy, she’s passionate about methods to encourage civic participation in politics and society.
